Elephant ear sea sponge is a flat sponge, which artists love because of their smooth surface on one side, and rough surface on the other. They are typically used in painting and pottery as the irregular texture of these art sponges create a nice variety of shapes on the painting surface.
These flat-shaped sea sponges have a distinctive look and feel all their own. The smooth surface and texture of these natural sponges allows for a wide variety of decorative and pottery techniques making them highly sought after by potters.
These Natural Sea Sponges are always sustainably harvested following industry regulations. Harvesters leave a 1″ base when cutting the sponges so they are able to regrow!
Care Instructions: Using a mixture of one (1) tablespoon of baking soda per cup of water, soak your sea sponge for 15 minutes every week or two. Then rinse and allow to air dry. In addition to thoroughly cleaning the sponge, baking soda revitalizes the sponge’s cellular structure for increased durability.
