Setacolor Tissus Clairs is a water-based paint dedicated to the decoration of light textiles. With its dazzling, matte and luminous colours, it helps to maintain the suppleness of fabrics.
Setacolor Light Fabrics colors are miscible with each other and offer excellent lightfastness. They apply to most pre-washed fabrics, such as cotton, wool, cotton-wool, knit, jersey, velvet, jacquard, polyester, fiber blends and non-wovens. The light texture of Setacolor Light Fabrics paint does not alter the suppleness and fineness of fabrics and can be used with multiple textile decoration techniques, such as brush, pipette, acetate, stamp, screen printing and the stencil.
Setacolor Light Fabric colors are ready to use, intense and concentrated. They can be used pure or diluted with water to obtain watercolor effects. Diluted with water, they can be used for the technique in the sun, or sunprinting, with two parts water for one part paint. This technique consists of painting a piece of fabric with this mixture, then covering certain areas with objects, plants and leaving it to expose to the sun. After drying, the areas hidden from the sun will be lighter.
To fix the Setacolor colors, simply iron on the reverse side of the decorated fabric, insisting for 5 minutes and adjusting the temperature of the iron to the “cotton” position without steam. It is also possible to slip the piece of fabric into a household oven: after 5 minutes at 150°C, the colors are fixed. After fixing, the colors are resistant to washing in the washing machine, but dry cleaning is not recommended.
The color chart also offers neon and glitter colors for all tastes. The quality of the paint is water-based and the colors are matte, glitter or fluorescent. The drying time is one hour in the air. To fix Setacolor colours, iron the reverse side of the decorated fabric for 5 minutes on the cotton setting without steam. You can also place the decorated fabric in a domestic oven for 5 minutes at 150°C (300°F) to fix the colours. After fixing, the colours resist machine washing.
